For Deb: Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas- If Ye Love Me – Thomas Tallis

William R. Adams started the Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas in 1982 with 45 choristers. Since then it’s grown into five performing ensembles with 200 choristers this music video is of them performing Thomas Tallis’  (born 1505 died 1585) "If Ye Love Me"  Tallis‘  beautiful setting of John 14: 15-16. Text is below the fold. Enjoy :-).

  1. Hi Mark,
Thanks so much for publishing this beautiful song for me. I love this site. The music is so relaxing. I think I will forward this to my mom because she loves to hear these choirs as well.

Much love and friendship your way my friend.

    • Hey Deb,

I’m delighted you liked it and the site – they’re a good choir I agree, and Tallis was a musical genius. Please do forward it to you Mum the whole point of the site is sharing our pleasure in beautiful music.

  2. Hey Mark,

Like it?! I love it! You have done a wonderful job with this site.

Do you have any of the other Amazing Grace? The one that goes Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me? I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see?

I love that song. Young Mike played it at Mikes grandmoms funeral on his sax, and it brought me to tears.

    • Deb you’ve made my day I’ve put a fair bit of work into this place (and an busy putting in more facilities to be ready for the New Year) so it’s a real encouragement when somebody with your web design skills and experience says they like it

Do you know the British boys choir Libera? If not I think you’ll really like their singing (I’m very much a fan of their singing and have quite a few posts of their music as well as some music videos of their music I’ve put together on my YouTube channel). As well as being “Libera” they’re also a church choir – St. Philip’s in Norbury South London. This is their version of Amazing Grace hope you like it.

(In fact I’m listening to their hymn “The Fountain” as I’m typing this reply to you).
