While I was hunting for the lyrics to Fauré's Madrigal. Opus 35. I came across this description on the ChoralWiki site: "Fauré’s Op.35 setting of Armand Silvestre's poem is not widely known but is lovely. It was composed as a wedding present to André Messager in 1883". Which really says all that needs to be said from my point of view other than that the performance below is by the Maîtrise de Nîmes from their concert given on January 21st 2012 at the Musée des Beaux arts, Nîmes, the conductor was Vincent Recolin and the pianist Philippe Reymond. Enjoy ´:-).
