Documentary: Angelic Voices : The Choristers of Salisbury Cathedral – YouTube

It’s been quite a while since I posted a documentary. This one which was first broadcast by the BBC on March 25th 2012 is excellent and gives a good insight into the working lives of these talented young musicians. Enjoy :-).

BBC Angelic Voices : The Choristers of Salisbury Cathedral.
First broadcast: 25 Mar 2012.
Child choristers have been singing at Salisbury for 900 years. This film – an observational portrait, history and musical immersion in one of Britain’s most distinctive and beloved cultural traditions – follows Salisbury Cathedral’s choristers over Easter and through the summer term of 2011.

  1. Such responsibility and tradition these remarkable and very young people carry on their small shoulders! I was so impressed with their seriousness and composure while being interviewed. It was wonderful to see them at practice, performance and while at play :). This was a marvelous program, thank you for sharing.

    • They’re a consistently good choir. People don’t realise how much work being a chorister is. A chorister has to sing and behave to professional standards from day one. No allowance is made for their age. It’s very good training for later life. I agree about the programme – wonderful documentary.
