Christmas Greetings 2014

I wish you all a happy and holy Christmas.

William Byrd (±1539-1623): From Virgin Pure. Text: Francis  Kindlemarsh, (fl. 1570)

From Virgin pure this Christmas day did spring
The precious seed that only saved man;
This day let man rejoice and sweetly sing,
Since on this day salvation first began.
This day did Christ man’s soul from death remove,
With glorious saints to dwell in heav’n above.

O sing unto this glitt’ring, glorious King;
O praise His name let every living thing;
Let heart and voice like bells of silver ring,
The comfort that this day to man doth bring ;
Let lute, let shalm, with sound of sweet delight,
The joy of Christ’s his birth this day recite.

    • Richard – Thank you, I hope you and yours had a good Christmas and will take the opportunity to wish you a peaceful and prosperous year for 2015.

  1. Thank you for your music this year and I intent to make more use of your channel and the Chorale in 2015. You opened my eyes to Cavalli of late and such a surprise too. Christmas wishes. Jim Murray.

    • James many thanks, well opening eyes – and ears! To music they mighn’t be familiar with is a large part of why I do this, so your comment made my day.
