Dresdner Kreuzchor und Thomanerchor Leipzig (2001) – Spem in alium

Go here to hear two of the best choirs in Germany, the Dresdner Kreuzchor and Leipzig’s Thomanerchor, combine forces to sing Tallis’ ‘Spem in alium’ in a performance dating from 2001. The sound quality isn’t perfect – you may need to increase the volume a bit but the quality of the singing and the very different approach to the piece that these two German choirs adopt to a piece of music that many consider to be quintessentially English make for interesting listening. Enjoy :-).
