Surely not another rendition of Ave Maria? Yes, another rendition and a very good one in which the soloist Thomas Delgado Little instead of singing in Bb major takes the piece 2 keys higher to Db major and slows the pace somewhat. This could have gone very wrong indeed but Delgado Little (who outside of his career with Libera has both toured with the Glyndebourne opera company performing in Britten’s opera "The Turn of the Screw" and sung the role of Young Paris in a performance of Tippets Opera, King Priam, with the English Touring Opera at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden) handles the piece with serenity and aplomb. This performance of Ave Maria is from the live concert recording made at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC. Enjoy :-).
