Drakensberg Boys’ Choir in Seoul

I'm an unabashed fan of the Drakensberg Boys' Choir and ever since I first saw it I think of this video every time I think of them. It's short, 29 seconds long, but it captures perfectly why they're such a great choir. It was shot back stage on  May, 12th 2010 at Seoul Art Center as they made their way to the changing rooms after their first concert of their 2010 Asian Tour. They'd just made the flight to Korea, they'd just given their first concert, so you'd expect them to be exhausted wouldn't you?

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Choir performing Homeless

A few weeks ago I posted the Kenya Boys Choir singing  Paul Simon's "Homeless". This music video is the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Choir performing it live  with verve and panache on August 8th 2011 at the Cine Teatro Auditorium, Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Patagonia, Argentina as part of the International Federation for Choral Music's  9th World Symposium on Choral Music. I really enjoyed this performance - it sparkles, a good song sung well and combined with good choreography, what more could you want? Video and lyrics are below the fold. Enjoy :-)

Kearsney College Choir South Africa : My God Is A Rock In A Weary Land

The Choir of Kearsney College, South Africa, singing one of Alice Parker and Robert Shaw's arrangements of  the negro spiritual "My God Is A Rock In A Weary Land" . One of my favourite spirituals sung by one of my all time favourite choirs. I could write reams and reams of rhapsodising here but I reckon the music does it for me. Have a listen, I think you'll see what I mean. If you're like me and like you like negro spirituals then you've definitely heard lots of performances of this song —  but perhaps none quite like this. Lyrics below the video. Enjoy :-)
