It's been a while since I posted anything by the Drakensberg Boys' Choir, the video below the fold is of their performance last year of 'King of Kings, Majesty' with the solo being sung by J.J. I've put the lyrics below fold also. Enjoy :-).

Drakensberg Boys’ Choir: Gumboot Dancing

June 2, 2012

It's a bit of an understatement to say that I like the Drakies' performances. No matter what they're performing they do it with enthusiasm and style. This is their take on the traditional South African Gumboot Dancing routine, the performance is from the their first concert in their 2010  Korean tour. The concert was given on May 12th in Seoul Art Centre Concert hall. Enjoy :-).

Go tell it on the mountain – Drakensberg Boys’ Choir 2011 – YouTube

John W. Work, Jr.  was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1872 and died there in 1925. He's best known for his collections of Negro folk songs. His very lovely Christmas spiritual carol 'Go tell it to the Mountain' dates from his time as a teacher upon graduating from Fisk university in 1907. It's sung here by the Drakensberg Boys' Choir as part of their 2011 Christmas Concert series.  In this arrangement they sing only the first few verses but I've included all of Work's lyrics below the fold as they deserve to be better known. Enjoy :-)

The Drakies singing "Hodie Christus Natus Est" ("Today Christ was born") like it's never been sung before. This performance is from their Christmas 2011 concert series. Lyrics and a translation to English are both below the fold. Enjoy :-).
